Overview

David Winkler provides clients with strategic advice on business objectives by pairing his finance and tax background with practical, efficient legal solutions to achieve business goals. He focuses his practice on mergers & acquisitions and private equity and also works with clients on growth equity, venture capital, and general corporate law.

David works with companies in a variety of industries including enterprise software, financial technology, media, consumer, e-commerce, food, agriculture, medical device and digital health. He is also actively engaged in the Midwest angel and venture capital community.

David’s experience includes representing companies and investors on all types of business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions and SAFE, Seed, Series A, and late stage financing transactions. He also acts as outside general counsel to several emerging growth companies by providing oversight on legal matters and strategic guidance to founders, boards and executives. In this role, he provides legal advice and strategic guidance related to fundraising strategies, equity compensation, corporate governance, and commercial agreements. Through his fund practice, David assists fund sponsors with organizing, structuring, and operating private investment funds.
